actually, there should be a caveat that says you can salvage your ridiculously-named band from ridiculousness by having multiple hit albums and/or an enduring rock legacy. under this rule, i think at least Mott the Hoople should be redeemed.
edit: the comments on that article make a lot of good points about bands that shouldn't be on there (Alan Parsons Project) and bands that should (like, where's Alien Ant Farm?)
