well, that's a bit chilling, isn't it?
i didn't see any mention of Verizon's reaction - certainly hope they intend to appeal.

this article about Verizon's reaction. i would hope this has a reasonable chance of being overturned on appeal...but as with the Eldred case, the question may not be whether it is right or wrong (to be able to subpeona an ISP subscriber without a judge's ok) - only that current law (the DMCA) allows it to be done this way.
it is probably gonna take someone who gets served with said subpoena, together with some deep pockets and/or interested parties (the EFF et al), to really challenge this invasive and draconian provision of the DMCA and test it's constitutionality (or lack thereof)
