I don't recall even a
criminal charge against Vitter, let alone a conviction. But the real contrast seems to be the relentless media hype when all Craig did was tap a guy's shoe. Just how "lewd" is that in the liberal world.
The dems have every reason to keep their mouths shut given that the media is doing their talking for them and that they have a little mentioned member named Patrick Kennedy who got a lot less attention for a much more serious crime.
I think the republicans desire to remove criminals from their ranks contrasts nicely with the democrats desire the keep them in theirs.
