Portable? What does that mean? How does the CNET article releate to portability? DVDs are the same size as CDs, so they're just as 'portable'. Not as many player devices? I bet CDs weren't as 'portable' as tapes back in the day either...


Just read somewhere that DVD Audio players will be required to not include digital outputs. I don't see how this is gonna fly. The whole point of DVD players is to have one cable running between your player and receiver for audio, and another one (or 3 (component)) for video. You know, the whole point of DIGITAL Versatile Disc? Only the cheapest DVD players have no digital audio out, and no one would dare sell a receiver of any reasonable quality without a digital audio input.
