I don't think that you can completely stop ppl from sharing eggs without some compromise network-wise or some major protocol change in a piece of software. Its like trying to stop leeching on p2p. The changes and counter-changes only make the effort more trouble than its worth.

the sig link/hash file system works pretty well to keep out bad files but it's very limiting in that it only allows sharing of the exact same version.
