Default The greatest guitarists of all time

Another top 100 list is out and Jimi Hendrix is listed at #1. It's a little tough for me to judge but I'd like to hear your favourites and why.

"Hendrix embraced the LSD-enlightened culture of the mid-to-late-'60s with style and tonal palettes of infinite colors. Beyond his defiant deconstruction of pop music and blues, beyond the grace that channeled through him from some other world, his working knowledge of 57 varieties of various popular music -- from big band to deep soul and gospel -- gave him a brave new world from which to draw. Many of his explosive performances had one foot in the relevant worlds of the Beatles, the Stones, and other popular musics, while the other searched and found firm terrain in 20th century black music. His guitar was an extension of his body, his efforts still revered by everyone who picks up a guitar today."

Essential Album: Are You Experienced?
Classic Moment: "Red House"
