Try Morelenbaum2/Sakamoto's new cd "Casa". Search Ryuichi Sakamoto - Sabia. It's the music of Jobim (Brazilian) beautifully played and sung, almost like classical/bossa nova.

If you want to chill and hear brilliant songwriting with plenty of wit and strange beauty try Lambchop's "Is A Woman" cd, in particular "The New Cobweb Summer".

Neither are particularly what you were looking for, but WTF, it's free.
