Those 96k songs could well be mp3PRO encoded. Check out this discussion
p2p.napsterites.net starting with the third post by
theflaco.
I have had the best luck with eDonkey (Quality wise). All the albums I downloaded in Ace or RaR format were 192kbs or VBR.
In addition to the groups Fantom mentioned (KSI, EGO, RNS) I have also seen albums by Spikehammer, OSC, Shady_Guy, 88MPH. Linux1999, mft57, WLM, Sooper...
If you search using those names as well as ALBW you should have pretty good luck.
btw - I got 1 off AG (Eagles - Both Greatest Hits Albums). One 84MB 90min mp3 @ 128kbs - I guess if you have 90min of time to fill it's OK
