i see it once in a while. whether it's a surreptitious oxy or an easy joint by the pool, a lot of boomers still indulge if occasionally.

as for the tv news, the whole couric thing is too weird for me to take seriously. i want my news from some hard ass who stared down stalin or saddam, not some muffin in sling backs who's long on nice. doesn't have to be a guy but you know, hard asses usually are...

i've essentially given up on tv news, with the exception of the pbs newshour - and then only on fridays for the shields and brooks analysis. when a simple click can get me the home town paper in any corner of the globe the 22 minute talking head commercial newscast begins to lose its relevancy. on the other hand i listen to radio news often, but that's mostly late breaking stuff, traffic and weather.
