If it wasn't for rap, I think I wouldn't have the appreciation for the Funk. George Clinton, Zapp, Ohio Players, and many many others that were sampled over the years.

I listened to those Funk Bands before the Rap era, Didn't need an introduction later... I admit to listening to the mid 70's early rap bands like Sugarhill Gang, Newcleus, Grandmaster Flash etc...
