Sure they can, but half of magic is shock, disbelief and denial. The other half is misdirection.

There is a growing undercurrent in US culture that eyes Georgie-boy with cynicism - criminal cynicism. Magicians prefer not to repeat tricks to the same audience due to the fact that; one, the shock-value is no longer there to blind the eyes or blunt the common-sense, and two, the cynical public eye is always trained on the every move of the 'Presidential' Showman when a repeat performance is granted. Misdirection does not come easily a second time.

Repeating the trick would be unlikely - at least not on the scale of 9/11.

I sincerely hope I'm correct.
