Actually, all the doom and gloom is comming from the opposing party. To those who really listen to Bush, his outlook on Iraq is fairly optimistic as long as the job gets done. The only reason the president can be so blunt about the prospects of an early pullout is that it won't actually happen, and since the discussion is entirely hypothetical we can approach it from an academic distance and speak plainly. Iraq could certianly be worse off, and if we gave up now it would certainly be worse off. But we don't have to worry about that because it won't happen.

If I thought your nonchalant suggestion that we incite more wars and death in the middle east was a serious one then I'd be appalled. Fortunately for Iraq, nobody with any authority will ever take your plan seriously.
