yeah, the two songs that always amazed me for their definition of "ghostplayed" guitar work (where the people you think are responsible for the incredible licks are not) would be layla and i'm going home ('69 woodstock). in both cases "back-up" guys are flamboyantly, explosively upfront while the stars hang back doing fairly standard blues riffs.

redhouse on the other hand is all blues and all hendrix and an almost perfect example of pure standard blues handled with total confidence and joy by a guy at the the absolute peak of his power, as evidenced by the 14 min version on hendrix in the west. the only argument is where it was taped, the san diego sports arena or the royal albert hall. you'll get no argument about the playing. peerless.
