My meaning is that facts can be used to tell lies when presented in such a one sided manner. It's called rhetoric, and artful as it may be, it serves a sinister purpose. People should speak plainly, saying, "I'm not going to vote for McCain because I don't like him, and I don't think you should vote for him either, and here's why..." Brilliant as your Star-Telegram quote is, it is in fact indirect and pointless, not to mention truculent.
