very shocking - Shawn was one of the people who gave this board life and character.
whether you agreed or disagreed with him, he was one of a kind: passionate, opinionated, articulate, smart, kind, and funny as hell. he did not suffer fools gladly, and lord knows we've had more than a few those over the years.
i spent a lot of nights playing e-scrabble with him (before Hasbro killed it off
), he's on my favorite users list at Soulseek, and he was, like myself, a rabid Peter Gabriel fan. i still have some of his music (Sidereal Drive, which can still be found
here ) - i liked it well enough to keep it all these years.
all in all, one of my favorite Napsterites, and one of my favorite netizens in general.
i wish someone who knew him in the real world would come on and flesh out his life a little bit more for us - i wish, too late, that i knew more about the Shawn i didn't know.
Rest In Peace, Shawn
