Hi Shredder and welcome to this corner of cyberspace...
You have set up a nice and informative site, well done.
Both ANts and MUTE are very interesting anonymizer projects. Unlike Freenet they are clearly file sharing oriented designs, geared to work as both practical and safe sharing platforms.
I like the
organic routing idea being applied:
Quote:
The routing protocol has been developed over studies on ants behaviour... ants do not know the precise location of their hive, they simply follow a track... the same happends in this system. So the more messages follow a track the more that track will be "strong", if a track produces many failures it'll fade out and it won't be followed anymore.

Both ANts and MUTE use point-to-point encryption to protect direct peer-to-peer communications (over Internet) from outside snooping (by your ISP, your government etc.). In addition, ANts supports endpoint-to-endpoint encryption, which means that also virtual (=indirectly connected and IP-numberless) peers can have their mutual communications shielded from other peers in the network.
Don't expect to find a lot of content from these networks yet - they are still young and small. Think of them rather as places where you can share your favorite stuff anonymously without having to worry about the bad guys.
You can download ANts from
here and MUTE from
here.
