As the Beastie Boys once put it: What goes around comes around. Sampling -- using the catchiest snippets of previously recorded material in new songs -- is a tradition as old as, well, rap music. When the Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight," generally credited as the first hit hip-hop single, sampled Chic's "Good Times," the floodgates opened. Nowadays musicians even sample entire albums -- DJ Danger Mouse's controversial Grey Album is a melding of Jay-Z's Black Album and the Beatles' White Album.
