I hear what you're saying JS.
To me winnies' biggest faults are (in no particular order):
1. leeching
2. long ass queues
3. weee bit of a memory hog
I look at innovative little programs like leechammer as a step in the right direction.
Perhaps, if more people are forced to share (amongst their peers) - the more people will share (even if it IS begrudgingly) some decent files.
Most people use winnie only as a last resort because the leech/queue problem is such a drag.
If more people can assert some control over who gets their shares (and the way they get them) and more people realize that sharing is a 2-way street, the more files will become available from a wider range of sources (hopefully the end result being a lessening of the queues).
