i catalog my cds using filemaker pro; which is basic database software. i've clearly labelled each cd starting at ONE, then input what's on each cd and cd #, and what type it is (application, video, game, music) in filemaker. then i sort one alphabetically and one by file type and output to html so i can easily reference it and/or easily link it to friends who might want to borrow something. it also has a search feature.

only problem with filemaker is that i didn't intuitively pick it up; but that was partly because i was completely new to database software so i wasn't familiar with how to think like it. now it's very comfortable for me and feels quite easy but there was a learning curve where i simply had to understand how it worked.
