thanks tg, this was an interesting article to read (especially that bit on the end about permanent chatrooms).

wpnp seems to be a very intruging protocol, and i've often wondered how it works exactly, just not really got around to doing anything about it.

it's a shame it's so closed and proprietary.. although this might be exactly what's saving it from people like the riaa - the fact that they don't really have much idea how it works, and so can't attack it - at least, a google search on 'wpnp' turned up very little.

if anyone has any info about the wpnp i'd be interested to read it - what's the structure of it, and just how necessary are those frontcode-owned peer caches?
