eDonkey: Problem or not?
Hi all,
I've been increasingly using eDonkey (35.16.59) with the DonkeyBot (V1.21) to download files. Currently I'm donwloading a file and have gotten the following message in eDonkey (message window that also shows the server messages): Corruption found in <file being downloaded> at <some number> As far as I can tell, this message is trying to tell me that there were problems encountered in downloading chunks of the file. The <some number> indicates the chunk that shows the corruption. Have any of you seen this message before? Are these corrupt chunks retransferred automatically or should I expect the file to be corrupt after completing the download? Any info is greatly appreciated, Stoepsel |
Found this in the eDonkey forums...
After posting my initial post, I started looking around in the eDonkey forums and found this post:

Yes, corruptions will be fixed automatically. It's happened to me on several occasions, the file comes out fine.
Once, however, there must have been a bad client or something, there was this one file what would always have a corrupy chunk, and try to re-download it every time, only to crap out again. This happened a dozen times or so (very annoying), until finally a clean chunk came through. Like with most other eDonkey problems... give it some time and it will sort itself out. |
