bold faced spyware

While this is not strickly P2P related spyware it is worth a read as an educational article on the subject. This makes BDE little episode look like childs play.

This stuff takes 49 steps to remove it from an infected computer.

Here is a typical quote: Susan Henrichsen, deputy attorney general for the state of California, declined to comment on specifics of the IntelliTech situation. But she noted that downloading software onto someone's computer without permission is tantamount to hacking.

I would submit that even if you hide the declaration to get permission at the bottom of a 10 page click through license its not good enough.

you know......

We should all pay particular attention to this type of activity.

As more and more people become aware of, infuriated by spyware and continue to remove/ban it from their systems with AV software, firewalls, etc., the more inventive, malicious, sneaky (AND desperate) these companies will become with their profit-making schemes......it's ONLY inevitable.

49 steps to remove this garbage from my com my a$$! It's just plain RIDICULOUSLY sickening!!

P.S. - Can someone tell me just HOW a company wouldn't KNOW this was happening??!!

Nevermind, whatever the excuse, I ain't buying it!

It's all just a big misunderstanding. This happened by accident. Hey, if a company like Microsoft can accidently skip Real files with its file search tool, who knows what's going on at other less professional companies. :a:
