LOL @ 81 pages of ppppt..

Come on. You're the ones who use them! List the ones you like/use in your order of preference please?? :)

Maybe we'll end up with a top 20? 30? of P2P :¬))

Here's a start you crybaby. ;)

Kazaa++ is the McDonalds of p2p. Too big to ignore. http://doa2.host.sk/

eMule is the slow but steady program with lots of content.. http://www.emule-project.net/

Soulseek has become the #1 music p2p for the esoteric music afficionados (snobs) http://www.slsk.org/

Ðiego 13-06-03 05:28 AM

Cool cool :¬))

Keep 'em coming please :tu:

Direct Connect has the most content but no multisource downloads. http://www.neo-modus.com/
Open source DC++ http://sourceforge.net/projects/dcplusplus/
Since it combines eDonkey and Gnutella 1+2 and Bittorrent it's pretty useful. http://www.shareaza.com/
Speaking of Bittorrent here are the official programs. http://torrentlinks.com/

Ðiego 13-06-03 06:15 AM

Excellent :)

You know, I'm having a hard time finding P2P related sites. Not client sites, but like ZeroLaid.. Odd..

WinMX is the 2nd biggest program...2 million users and 2 billion queues. http://www.winmx.com/

Piolet is the former Blubster. Good general music program. http://www.piolet.com/

GrabIt is a newsreader not p2p but with more content than IRC and requests filled often combined with maxing out your connection speed newsgroups are always at the top. http://www.shemes.com/

assorted 13-06-03 06:37 AM

yeah.... what napho said...

i'm using kazaa, soulseek, irc and bittorrent.

if i ever had to expand further i guess i'd add on direct connect.

waste - always on.

soulseek - centralized = fast.

imesh - for fasttrack 128 bit popular stuff and movies.

gnucleus - gnutella desperation.

winmx - real desperation. 300 uploads before the program finishes opening. downloads don't start until after armagedon.

so really it's soulseek for what i'm looking for. if it's not on it i usually won't find it anywhere else either.

1. Soulseek for music.
2. Bittorrent for new TV episodes and stuff I can't get on u**net.
3. Kazaa Lite for programs and as a last resort for the above files.
4. IRC very occasionally. I use it to grab/send mixes but #fserv channels are always too backed up and too much hassle.

Cool guys. Thanks! Any other 'majors'?

http://www.naphoria.com/clients

BTW: suggests for non-client specific P2P sites as well?

This program isn't major but it's interesting for music lovers.

Remember the days when you had to "luckily meet" a taper or "friend of a taper" at a show or you had a friend who knew a friend who knew someone who lived next to someone that knew a friend who may know a taper?
In those days, "that" was the only way to find your favorite live Jamband music. In those days, multi-generational cassette recordings and half-set shows were common.
That was then... and this is Now!
The Furthur Network changes everything about sharing and trading by allowing you, me and everyone else to share their tunes with each other. It is peer-to-peer, so what you share is available to everyone else on the Network. Download music 24/7/365.
