Marilyn Manson Fans Are Also Disney Fans

Marilyn Manson's diehard core fanbase are Mickey Mouse about his forthcoming Australian visit. It seems there was a little Disney sing-a-long while they camped out overnight waiting for tickets outside the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

Inside the venue that night was the show Disney On Ice. It was enough to inspire the all-Goth queue to break into a street version of The Lion King's Hakuna Matata to relieve their boredom.

Tickets are now on sale for Marilyn Manson.

Dates are:

SATURDAY SEPT 13 - BRISBANE ENT CENTRE
MONDAY SEPT 15 - MELBOURNE VODAFONE ARENA
FRIDAY SEPT 19 - SYDNEY ENT CENTRE
SATURDAY SEPT 20 - NEWCASTLE ENT CENTRE

Hey Bob, hope you don't mind me posting this public, but you have two body tags ie:
Quote:

<body background="bg.gif">
<body link="#FFFFFF" vlink="#FFFFFF" alink="#FFFFFF" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; color:#FFFFFF" text="#FFFFFF" bgcolor="#000000">
should be:
Quote:

<body background="bg.gif" link="#FFFFFF" vlink="#FFFFFF" alink="#FFFFFF" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt; color:#FFFFFF" text="#FFFFFF" bgcolor="#000000">
But you don't need to define your link attributes in the <body> tag as you have:
Quote:

<STYLE TYPE="text/css">
a:link { color: #898989; text-decoration: none }
a:active { color: #D2CE6D; text-decoration: none }
a:visited { color: #898989; text-decoration: none }
a:hover { color: #D2CE6D; text-decoration: none }
</STYLE>
You also have two style sets and they can be combined like this:
Quote:

<style type="text/css">
<!--
a {
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-style: normal;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-weight: bold;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-variant: normal;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;text-transform: none;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;color: #FFFFED;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;text-decoration: none; cursor: hand;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;}

a:hover {
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-size: 9pt;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-style: normal;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-weight: bold;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-variant: normal;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;text-transform: none;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;color: #FFFF00;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;text-decoration: none;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;cursor: hand;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;}

a:active {

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-weight: bold;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-variant: normal;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;text-transform: none;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;color: #FFFFED;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;text-decoration: none;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;cursor: hand;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;}

body {
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;color : White;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;background-color : Black;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-family : sans-serif;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;font-size : 12pt;
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;text-align : left;

Disney is more Evil than Bert, Marilyn Manson and Charles Manson put together..

lol RAS nice, goo..?

They use their media influence for propaganda. And they censor and distort the movies they show and don't tell anyone about it.

They ruined Winnie the Pooh by making him an idiot. And they stole from his creators and shredded the evidence.

The Walt Disney Company, with over $23 billion in revenue, is one of the biggest players in the entertainment industry. They work hard to insure that all TV shows, radio programs, music, movies, and other entertainment media are under the control of big business. They wholly own the ABC networks. They control ESPN, half of Lifetime, a third of A&E, Touchstone Television, Buena Vista TV, a third of the History Channel, a third of E!, and the Classic Sports Network. They own Disney Book Publishing, Hyperion Books, Miramax Books. ABC Publishing Group. Disney Publishing, Inc., Diversified Publications Group (ha!), Financial Services and Medical Group, Miller Publishing Company. Touchstone Pictures. Hollywood Pictures. Miramax Films. Caravan Pictures. Buena Vista. A partial interest in Sid R. Bass -- an oil company. Family.com . NFL.com . NBA.com . NASCAR.com . The Go Network. Hollywood Records. Lyric Street Records. Mammoth Records. The Anaheim Mighty Ducks. A chunk of Tivo. They're bigger than Viacom, but part of the same problem. And like Viacom, they're about to get a lot more powerful. These guys are part of the "everything on TV looks the same" problem -- and they want to extend their control to a lot more than just TV.

And they're on the CONCRETE CASE EXAMPLES OF COMPANIES THAT CONTINUE TO VIOLATE HUMAN RIGHTS list.

meanwhile..

Western culture grows stronger

A few media and publishing giants (like Disney, Time-Warner, Bertelsmann, Murdoch) control many of the things we watch, read and listen to. Therefore the West - mainly the USA - has a strong influence on the world's popular culture.

It is easy for people to identify with the products of the entertainment corporations (movies, TV, music and so on). These products are glamourous, exciting and full of the latest technology; they easily become part of the culture that people share with their friends and their communities.

As a result, the role of local, traditional culture becomes less strong; its stories and characters become less important to people.

*MEDIA AND PUBLISHING GIANTS: huge companies that control a great number of newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations, satellite communications and so forth

We all become more alike

As the culture of western entertainment spreads, the world will lose a lot of its cultural variety. Everyone is becoming more and more alike: all around the world teenagers wear the same 'uniform' of baseball caps, blue jeans and running shoes.

'Cultural exports' spread

Countries like Canada, France and Malaysia have been fighting hard to protect their traditional culture by restricting the import of foreign books, films and so on. However, companies that want to increase their cultural exports are in favour of a new treaty, the Multilateral Treaty on Investment ( M.A.I.). This treaty would limit the power of governments to control cultural imports.

We buy, buy, buy!

Major corporations like Disney make consumerism part of sports, arts and entertainment. After you have taken your children to see the latest Disney movie, they will want you to buy the video, the key chain, the toys, the T-shirt, the note-paper, the pencil set.... Every film comes with a package of products, games, and children's books - and, of course, a careful plan for marketing them all.

*CONSUMERISM: (n) the habit of buying more and more things
We believe the corporate view of nature

In today's corporate society, many people are losing direct contact with the natural world, so companies like Disney can influence the way we see nature and the environment.

The Disney picture of nature suggests that human cleverness and technology can provide the answers to all our environmental problems. But that is how industrial societies think, and that way of thinking has caused our environment to be in great danger.

SUGGESTS : gives people the idea that...
The world grows more like a theme park

Theme parks are becoming a model for towns and commercial development. Everywhere, you can find chain restaurants, giant shopping malls, and modernized city centres that all follow the same pattern. They are all designed to make us feel as if we are getting away from life's problems - and to make us spend money.

As this kind of development spreads, there is less and less space for other values and other ways of doing things.

*CHAIN RESTAURANTS: restaurants owned by the same company, that are all exactly the same (for example, MacDonalds)

*CONSUMERISM: the habit of buying more and more things
