i was on mirc before napster. i dont' remember the first song i grabbed but i'm sure it was awful cuz the selection at that point was really limited. i was stuck with mainly pop-punk and eighties new wave pop; both genres i like but didn't like having ONLY a collection of.

Video killed the radio star, by the boggles.

It was the first song/video on MTV, so I thought it was kind of fitting.

I don't remember the first song, but I used Napster to find all the old songs that I loved from the late 60's/early 70's. No matter how obscure, Napster had them, especially after they connected all the servers. In fact, I got booted off Napster twice for d/ling songs that were over 30 years old. I MISS NAPSTER!! And all the friends I met in Napster chat, from all over the world.

think there are a number of variations on this thread floating around, but it's fun to reminisce....

AC/DC - It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock & Roll)

i just had my cable modem installed... the cable guy turned me on to Napster - even downloaded it for me. i really didn't grasp the significance until i listened to that first download....and then the possibilities dawned on me. :S:

4 years later, i'm still blown away by the concept:tu:
