UPDATE

We are releasing BETA 2. Several major network issues have been corrected. We are still working on correcting a list of other minor problems.

Please download BETA 2 by clicking HERE. It is ok to install this right on top of BETA 1, no uninstall required.

Keep in mind that there are still many issues we are working on correcting. If you have submitted a problem report for BETA 1, there is no need to re-send it if the problem still exists in BETA 2. Also note that there will still be some network problems until all beta testers have upgraded to beta 2. We expect this may take up to a day for everyone to be completely switched over, so please be patient.

Thanks again to all users who have been participating in the testing.

One thing I already found is, you have to set all your sharing options again and have WinMX scan your files to build up its file list. Hmmm....

Oh well, I'd like to here your comments on the new Beta.

Stoepsel

that didn't happen to me, had a clean install right over beta1....
just the usual rebuilding library stuff

d/l'd yellow submarine, multisource working just fine but still
getting multiple indentical files from same user.
from my lowly 56k perspective,:( multisourcing would be the only reason to switch from V2.6

i wish they would tell us exactly what changes were made

First thought?.. I like the flash new intro and hookup :BL:
thanks a lot gaz.....you had me looking for some flash thingy until i GOT it.......:att:

Sorry guys,

the thing about WinMX having to re-scan all my files was purely my fault. I must have chosen another install directory, i.e. a different one that I used for Beta 1.

Sorry about that misinformation. Boy, do I feel dumb now... :)

Stoepsel

PS: That OpenNap config file mentioned in this thread sure is a big help.
Thanks, napho.

UPDATE

BETA 3 is now available. This release corrects the last of the major network issues we know of.

Please download BETA 3 by clicking HERE. It is ok to install this right on top of BETA 1 or 2, no uninstall required.

Keep in mind that there are still many issues we are working on correcting. If you have submitted a problem report for BETA 1or 2, there is no need to re-send it if the problem still exists in BETA 3. WAit for 4?

My that was quick, yesterday Beta2 installed, this morning Beta3

Think I'll wait for 4 before doing any more...

I hope they removed the silly 350 minimum CPU restriction for cable connects, Ok I know its to ensure a good performance as a node, but my 233MMX is faster than my Cyrix 350 in most tasks anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, they have lost a nice fast node with this restriction (I'm 24/7 on my main system)

Snark...:(

Can someone confirm please?

I meant to post this observation in the last post.

OpenNap servers with WinMx 3.0

I am experiencing reports of Zero users, Zero files on some
of the smaller servers, it could be a problem with slavaNap
only, as three of the affected servers were running that rather than other forms of OPennap.

Anyone confirm, I don't want to raise a bug report with WinMx just yet..

The same servers on WinMx 2.6 show normally

Snark.
