hi john,

your key's been added. there is a vey good how-to on this board that will give you specific instructions for connecting, but if you are using the newly modified sourceforge versions of waste you won't be able to connect to us no matter what you do. if however you use v1.4 or earlier let us know. they work well here. welcome to the forum.

jack.

sorry jack, I reinstalled the waste program and i guess this is the new key.

Quick question...why do the keys change?? I just reinstalled the program and I was wondering if you still have to post keys when you start over. It seems like the keys change anyways. Also....I have never connected to waste yet. I dont know what Im doing wrong.

Here are my settings...
I've forward ports 1337 and 11150 on my router and also exposed the DMZ to operate behind firewall.

Waste v1.0b
Listen Port : 1337
Network : zer0share

Ive also added the list of pub keys from http://snow.prohosting.com/cycent/zer0/index.html#rn and tried all the ip address on there.

My Status says Connecting....but it doesnt connect. :TC: :con:

JackSpratts 13-06-05 07:32 AM

i'm normally in and out, but if you use skype add my username (jackspratts) to your contact list. the next time you see me online give me a call. i should be able to add you successfully.

sometime this month i'll start a zer©share mesh for modified sourceforge clients, then anyone will able to join, regardless of what they use.

- js.

edit: skype username is jackspratts

johnreject 13-06-05 05:41 PM

I see.. I'll try to get ahold of you on skype.. and also, did you add that key in there , the new one? Just checking. my skype sn is johnreject if you get the chance.. thanks jack for everything

Hey All, :W:

Finally back online (which is great) but still can't connect to zer0share (which is bumming me out) :TANT:

Pretty sure I've got the hang of Waste now, 'cos I've been able to join some other meshes using a v1.5 client. Using 1.0 for zer0share I never connect to anyone. I did change my keys at one point, so I'm guessing that anyone who added me still has the old key, and missed the message regarding the change. Can someone please add my new key:

and offer an IP address that should allow a connection?

Hey guys! I was searching for an opportunity to see a (big) working mesh in action to see if it'll be worth the effort of teaching my friends how to use it.
And well ... this is where I landed ;)
so here's my public key:

welcome derdoe. people come and go, you won't find zer0share big, but even if everybody who key'd us tried to get on at the same, which has never happened, waste can only serve about fifty.

zer0share does work consistently however and has been up for fifteen months straight now, so it's a good way to become familiar with a special program, and absolutely, well worth the effort.

- js.

derdoe 15-06-05 11:01 AM

fifty users is still more than my 2-client test setup at home ;)

now all i need is a working IP...

JackSpratts 15-06-05 01:10 PM

we've never had fifty at the same time lol. a dozen or so at most. check your pm.

Hidraca 10-07-05 11:03 AM

I hate to say I'm new around here. But I'v seen most of your handels pass by on my public mesh. AussiBeerMatt, Dream Catcher and a few more of you. I'd like to join this mesh.

JackSpratts 10-07-05 06:21 PM

welcome hidraca,

post your key and we should be able to get you in.

- js.

Dream Catcher 13-07-05 07:44 AM

hi there js !! hey....hidraca !!!!!
but i cant find aussie this days. where is he?
js..... i remember some one here months ago post something about using 2 versions...so what happened? i tried it but im so unseccussful. :(
what version zero using right now? i wanna jump in again..it seems hidraca left us :BL:
is there anyone working on offline messaging for waste?

JackSpratts 13-07-05 08:08 AM

hi dc, i haven't loaded a sourceforge client yet. other things keep coming up but it's on the aganda. in the meantime keep using v1.4 or pre and you'll be fine. check your pm for today's ip. as for specific members, they come and go like guests at some neverending rooftop gig. you won't see some for months then one day they're on like they never left, but i like that; it's like life in general. speaking of which the summer storm season is again upon us in new england. the atmosphere looks unstable for the next week or so and i may be absent often, especially overnight. see you around when i can.

I'm on the mesh thanks guys. On my workcomp the app loads find. But when I get home and run the zer0share mesh it appears off the side of my screen. I can't seem to get it on screen. Anyone have a small clue as to how to fix that?

ps Also random question anyone know Ifxv?

re-size your screen, grab a corner of the zer0share splash page and drag, or maybe launch in safe mode and do same. it won't connect but it may remember the new location. but you know, it's strange. i'm on a mesh and there is no splash page at all. it's totally invisible. i transfered the identity to another pc and it's still just as invisible and there's nothing i can do to make it appear. the app has it's own way.

can't say i know Ifxv.

multi 13-07-05 02:08 PM

offline messaging would be great
but where would the message be held, so they could read it when they log back on?

Hidraca 13-07-05 02:41 PM

As far as I know the message gets dropped. Also what happend to the mesh? Everyone just got droped off.

Shut my trap. Got back on after the connection que went through a lot of IP's

assassin 14-07-05 11:53 AM

In for a penny in for a pound!

i'll join up but need waste v1.4...
