:EBE:

WARNING!!!!

It has come to our attention(thanks to our friends at ZeroPaid) that someone over there has been sending weblinks to a virus in bogus PMs.............

The bogus PMs appear to come from well known members but are in fact slight variations of that persons nick. There is usually an extra letter, for example instead of rastagard it might be something like rastagarrd.

We are monitoring the situation as much as possible but caution should be exersized. If you recieve a PM from someone that seems fishy please notify anyone on staff immediately!!!!
get the info from ZP

Its bad that it has to be that way. Its mainly one person doing it and they are a bit hard to catch. But People over there are doing a good job not making it worse. Good post to warn.

multi 09-05-03 11:28 AM

well i see now it is a little old...so it may be not a problem anymore...
but do make sure of the name and post count...etc
b4 clicking any links in PM u get there..

TheOnlyBob 09-05-03 11:43 AM

Yea, I got it once right after we, poeple from musicmagent, put the banners in our sigs. It was all over ZP, and he didnt like that. was calling me really bad names.

Yeah that trouble has eased up lately but it wasn't just viruses but also links that would crash your browser and or snag your ip address.

damn that kinda of stuff just really bugs me.

best way to avert some of the potential problems is have your javascript and activeX turned off in your browser or just click on friends and people you trust.

what a drag huh?

peace

Yea, some people need to get a life.
