How r u gonna spend yer Altnet money?

I can't wait for Brilliant Digital's Altnet to start! They're gonna be paying us for our excess bandwidth. :BB: All those leeches on FastTrack take our porno for free but Kevin Burmeister is going to pay us! I figure I'm in for $2,000 a week. :ND: A nice infusion of cash.:tu:

"There is the potential of compensation for users.
That's the whole purpose of Altnet. The benefit of distributed computing technologies in a global peer-to-peer network is such that many organizations that are using centralized servers models can begin deploying their technologies out to the ultimate edge. The ultimate edge is represented by users of this network.

So the benefits to businesses that are making use of Altnet is being passed on to end users, through a program based around "Altnet resource dollars." Those resource dollars are essentially a reward mechanism for end users who have opted in to the program, to gain a continuous benefit from making their resources available.

That benefit will manifest in inventory provided by Altnet marketing partners who are gaining bandwidth reduction costs and cost savings through the use of Altnet."

On a Flying Pig?

I'm not sure if you're being serious, or if this is tongue in cheek, anyway all I can think of saying is hands up anyone who made money on the "Get paid While You Surf" schemes a couple of years ago...

...Thought not!

Now the guy who founded Freenet is doing exactly the same thing as BDE. Looks like a trend.

I will probably spend a good part of it on new CDs - that way 90 % of the money will recycle back to the economically challenged RIAA and everybody will be happy. With the rest of it I will buy more bandwidth so that I can make even more Altnet money! :a: :AF:

Vicious cycle TG :D

I SO don't forward to seeing Altnet in action.

Just think, a WHOLE different set of horrifying developments are just over the horizon.

They're just waiting for someone to push that little red button.
:sus:

New term thanks to Altnet:

I'll bet you wouldn't feel that way if Mr Burmeister can get you out of your MSN contract! Broadband might be one of the rewards from AltNet.

mwuhahaha Napho.

Would "I" accept a bribe like that from :frank::CG:?

btw, I've finally gotten a response to my "false & deceptive advertising complaint letter to MSN". It took an entire 2 1/2 months for them to respond :er:.

See, my ULTIMATE goal is too complain loud and often - perhaps they'll get tired of my griping, shred the bloody contract and give me my walking papers just to shut me up :D.

I know, I'm dreaming but it just "feels" so good!!

re: napho

I'm afraid that "compensation" is gonna come in the form of
"Georffrey dollars (for those [i]not-in-the-know[i] "Geoffrey-dollars are what Toys-r-us gives you instead of your money back when you buy a game copy it to a cd with blindrite and then shrink wrap it up again (nice what saran wrap and a really *hot* hair dryer can do for you....hehe (no ideas...tank-grrrl :P :SP:

so I'm afraid you'll get that "monetary and or non-monetary" or "other means of compensation" in the form of "KaZaA" dollars only good at the KaZaA shop."

Me: I will buy all the nudie-pics of Nikki Hemming

-Harby
(still think's she [Nikki Hemming] is a babe)

p.s.
(sorry TG i have moved on...its not you....its me. ;) )[/humour]

(apologies for the humour tags...sometimes even I can't tell when its supposed to be funny)
