nice ripper. fairly straight forward and simple to use

but imho EAC is better

Yeah EAC is the best ripper out right now. But it is also a little harder to use and alot slower "which is good"

CDEX is a bit easier to use but I find it more use for encoding than ripping as CDEX still lacks behind EAC for error correction on damaged CD's. CDEX is probably the best all in one ripper/encoder out there right now.

When using CDEX set your thread priority to low "one down from default" maybe lower if you have a slower system. Otherwise you may get errors from open programs and other things during extraction.

I never had a problem with it, but I make sure to shut down all running programs, like the antivirus and anything else I have before ripping to mp3.

Error correction? I would just dl the song if it could not correct after a second pass on a "funky" track.

Sounds good as long as that song is out there:BL: I had a rare cd once that was scratched all to hell. I had a heck of a time finding half the tracks but still did not get all of them. As a matter of fact I could not even find this CD in stores or Online anywhere. I tried every ripper I could find and all of them failed at getting me a error free copy except EAC. It took almost 4hrs but EAC did it and earned my trust in it ever since:tu:

There are very few secure rippers out there that can correct errors from scratched cd's.
