well we knew that. it would have to be a bit of xolox/gnucleus. it's a start. time will tell if it's worth it, if they add they're own network.

I last used Gnucleus to search for Denise Richards. When I installed Morpheus there was Denise in the search box. :)
I know you guys love the name Morpheus but I think the original is alot better. And you're going to need Grokster or Kazaa for the FastTrack network.

JackSpratts 01-03-02 08:54 PM

has anyone connected? mine won't. (i had an old gnucleus file - groove armada - in my search box too, tho grey'd out).

v2.0 cam't connect....

I cannot seem to connect after downloading & installing.

Is there some special things that must be acomplished?:FB:

JackSpratts 01-03-02 08:56 PM

gnucleus and xolox are automatic. this should be too.

snowman 01-03-02 09:04 PM

what ip or computer name ...

Can be used to successfully connect?

I just cannot image the router.limewire.com surviving this.

JackSpratts 01-03-02 09:15 PM

yep. but they'll be getting more supernodes too so it may work out. the network's up and i'm downloading my first tune. beatles@14KBS. i see otr & some pgms on here too like quark etc. there are some transfer parameters you can set like bandwidth etc but i don't see an audio only key. all in all it may be a decent gnutella.

right now i'm off to get grokster. as much as they love that fasttrack network it's just too good to leave to the riaa. they're going to have to share. :tu:

oh yeah and btw, welcome to nu snowman! it's been a while. glad you made it.

Hey, I just installed gnucleus (after installing morpheus:uu: ) :). I got clean kazaa, thanks to riaa on winx. A hacked no-ad no-spyware version of kazaa :). Edit: Too bad it keeps disconnecting me.

Millencolin 01-03-02 09:47 PM

Mine didn't install its-self:MAD: Anyone know if the .dat files will work on Kazaa? or any other similar p2p?

multi 01-03-02 10:00 PM

If it's Gnucleus with more bugs and an ad bar why would you want it? If you're interested in a Gnutella client get Gnucleus or XoloX.

And if you really miss Morpheus then use a cleaned up copy of Grokster...

zombywoof 01-03-02 10:23 PM

Looks like this version is a poor imitation of Gnucleus. After installation, it sits there happy and stupid not looking for any servers to connect to. Uninstalled it ran gnucleus and got 3 hosts up in about 10 secs. Oh, well, they come they go. It was worth a shot to see if its any good.

If you install Grokster it will pick up your unfinished downloads right where they left off.

Just do as Napho says here Grokster and spyware

Millencolin 01-03-02 11:13 PM

Sweet, thanks. I tried putting a .dat file in Grokster and it showed up as an unfinished transfer. I guess i'll use that till Morpheus gets fixed up.

Di dyou look in Program Files. Looks like one bug is that it does not install any icons in the start menu and I thought it was supposed to.. it looked like nothing installed so i went to program files and found it there. There are no options to add a shortcut so you would have to dig it out with windows explorer.
