sexy way to file share...
1 Attachment(s)
I came across the most novel UI for a file sharing application.
Minitasking. It allows you to find and download music or movies from gnutella, using a visual medium. The bigger a blip the bigger the ammount of files its holding. Random file names are what others are searching. Right clicking any where in the view pane, will allow you type in a search term. You can grab Minitasking at http://www.minitasking.com/ Its free, and by that I also mean spyware free. I think more people developing p2p apps should look to diffrent ways of representing a UI. Minitasking is a bet heavy on the cpu though, so a fast machine is a must. Here is how things looked for my search of "madonna"... |
Thanks for the link, Ethen! :tu:
I definitely agree: visualizing p2p environment in cool ways adds a whole new dimension to the p2p experience. The way to go. :ND: - tg ;) |

Its missing one important feature. A menu bar.
Upon use once I figured out all the 10,000 commands it has, its a good little app. Tons of things you can do. While the UI is neat, using visual representation, the biggest draw back is not having a menu bar up top where you can acess all the features easily. Stick some kinda a menu bar along the top, and make a few more refinements, and it would be a very good program. Now it just needs to acess a better network ;/ |
Big boobies site?
Where is that? Breastney Spears dot com? |
