what a load of shit! do you know this for a fact, that innocent iraqis were taken out of their homes, that all of them were being raped and tortured, that 90% of the prisoners are innocent? NO.. it's all liberal fairytales.

and yet millions of innocent germans perished during WWII in allied bombings. this certainly didn't delegitimize the entire war effort against the nazis. likewise, it shouldn't demoralize the war against garbage like saddam hussein and bin ladin and all those who follow and support them. don't get me wrong, we should make every effort to minimize civilian casualties. but in guerilla type warfare like in iraq it's damn near impossible to do so. let me remind you that the vast majority of civilian casualties in iraq in recent months is the result of islamic terrorists attacking anything in sight and not the bush killing machine.

Ok... I'm going to open myself up to a bit of criticism here... but what the hell.

I watched the video again last night and remembered a few things that flashed through my mind when I watched it originally... How many times does the guy reading the statement read the same page? He fannys around with the paper as if there's nothing written on it - hardly surprising, because there probably wasn't - the dubbing and editing is fucking amateur and/or intentional. Another thing, I'll check snopes about this, but when the throat/jugular is cut, blood usually spurts out for several seconds - particularly during a stressful occassion when blood pressure is skyrocketing - yet the blood seems to trickle out and pool on the floor - not a drop hits the nearby two walls that corner his body.

I reckon (by the grace of God) he was already dead before the decapitation - that'd account for the porno-style zoom in and out, inbetween Berg being pushed to the ground and the knife being used. His struggling movements wouldn't have been difficult to simulate.

Then again, maybe I'm too suspicious. Proceed with the namecalling.

I got the video from Squid's link...no dubbing and such poor resolution i couldn't really see blood except where it was on Berg's jaw. It would have spurted downward anyway. I saw a lot of page turning and reading. It all looked authentic enough. Where'd you get your version?

Are you thinking of Daniel Pearl where they didn't know how to work the video camera and had to fake-kill him a second time to get the video?

On this, really don't know:con: The first time i've seen it full, your link, I thought that 4.30 mins was awfully long for 2 page of text to read. Call me inhuman for this cold analysis but, ever seen any animal cut from the troath, it bleeds like hell since the heart is still supplying blood to the major arteries. I've seen none of that in this recording, hell, the whole cell should have been soaked with blood after they were done butchering the poor soul.

Jeeps... and I thought I was the only one who felt it was a little suspicious! Some of the suggestion raised are ridiculous - like the fact that there could never be more than one person who owns a crappy white garden chair, or even paint a wall magnolia! Same goes for the orange jumpsuit. Pretty poor stuff really.

However, I'm just pointing out that the video is heavily (and poorly) edited. For example, Berg's screaming starts before the knife is pulled - yet he is sat there motionless and his mouth does not open... the video is dubbed - simple as that. Christ, I could have done better than that! Albed - to answer your question, I used squid's link. I also downloaded it twice, just incase I had a corupted copy, but the dubbing's just as bad. Check it out again.

Before anyone lays into me over this, be aware that I ain't blaming it on anyone - I'm simply pointing out a few flaws. Check out the time codes on the picture... I'm hardly a military analyst but the order of the timecodes pretty much shows that the video hasn't just been edited, it's been re-arranged. Look, these are presented in the order that they are shown in the video...
