Kazaa Lite update ?

When logging on w/ kazaa lite, update box appears asking to update to v1.7.1. Currently running v1.6 b2. Does the update install the spyware (full blown version)? If or when it's time to update, would it be better to go with a clean install of a new version lite as opposed to running the autoupdate?

Trying to help til the true sages stop in........

Oscar if you're running a lite version steer clear of the update box.......just say NO.

Merijn made a great post with links to every version of every Kazaa that's ever been created for your dling pleasure.

All of them cleaned, even 1.7.1.

Here it is: http://www.napsterites.net/undergrou...threadid=11536

I'm running the 1.7.0 version with no problems.

I'd stay away from the auto-updates; they're controlled by the network (Sharman). Just update manually.

Those pop-up screens are horrible. I've noticed everytime i call up Kazaa AND/OR everytime I change a setting (search results, ul/dl #s) I'm bombarded by update pop-ups.

I think the cursor automatically lands on the "yes" to update too.

Tricky bastards.

Thanks for the info guys. I thought maybe those autoupdates came from Sharman but I wasn't sure. Best thing to do then is stay with hacked versions, reinstall newer hacked versions or any other p2p app that has been modified for that matter and stay away from autoupdates.

Thanks for the link napho.
