Underground Webcasting Showing Promise
like radio caroline in the 1970s, underground webcasters have turned their back on mega-sized media companies whose onerous laws attempt to silence their voices. one technology being explored is the fairly untracable peer-to-peercast. after several false starts it's ready for general low-bit (24-32kbps) streaming. one client i like is Streamer. it couldn't be easier to use and it automatically loads the peercast into winamp. well gee, i'm not going to stop fighting CARP but it's nice to have a back-up plan.:CG:

Damn shame webcasters are now called pirates........
Blech! I'm encouraged to see that some are finding ways around the net radio nazi's. :tu: |
i guess my net radio is b00mb0x :)(not that i can stream from there but would if i had BB)
the selections on the mixes from there dotted around in the playlists are like radio sometimes (i always listen to random) songs come on in mixes that i never realised that i had.. but this peer2peercast sounds good net radio has become a bit of a front line casulty in the p2p war.. |

"How to Broadcast It's quite simple. First you need something to create the mp3 data stream. There's a 'plugin' for winamp that will do the job here:http://www.oddsock.org/tools/dsp_oddcast/ Install the plugin, configure it to output to port 8461 (or maybe 8460, or 8462). Choose your mp3 format." - js. |
