Noun, verb, POW

Quote:

Leno: Sen. John McCain, for $1 million, how many houses?

McCain: Could I just mention to you that, in a moment of seriousness, I spent five and a half years in a prison cell. I didn't have a house. I didn't have a kitchen table. I didn't have a table. I didn't have a chair. I spent those five and a half years, not because I didn't want to get a house when I got out.

Every time McCain is confronted about anything about him he plays the POW card. It's pathetic.

So far he has used 'I was a POW' (which he doesn't like to talk about) to 'explain':
  • Cheating on your 1st wife to marry a younger, richer one
  • Stating that you don't know about economic issues
  • A reputation for being 'angry'
  • Repeatedly mistaking 'Shiite' for 'Sunni' while at the same time claiming to be an expert on foreign policy
  • Saying that Al Qaeda trains in Iran
  • Saying Al Qaeda is on the Iraq/Pakistan border
  • Calling yourself a 'maverick' while being aligned with George Bush 99% of the time
  • Egging on Russia, and giving unquestionable support for Georgia
  • Not being able to remember the number of homes you own
  • Thinking that someone has to make $5 million a year to be 'rich'
  • Agreeing that the US will only be at its strongest when we reimplement the draft
  • Stating that Americans would not pick lettuce for $50/hour
  • Having your top economic policy advisor state that the US is 'a nation of whiners' in a 'mental recession'
  • 'Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb bomb Iran'
  • Acknowledging that you have been in a 'cone of silence' when actually you were in a car with your aids
  • Saying that ABBA is your favorite musical group
  • Only holding one campaign event per day and taking weekends off
  • Helping to write a campaign finance law you then break with your own campaign
  • Wearing $500 shoes, having 8-10 houses and a wife worth $100 million - while calling the other candidate elitist

They say there are only two things which can completely and utterly kill a campaign: being caught in bed with a dead girl, or a live boy. I'm quite sure McCain would call 'POW!' should either happen and expect to get away with it.

...or else God just hates the GOP.

Dems are partying under sunny skies in Denver while a looming Hurricane Gustav is poised to strike just in time for the GOP convention....

Quote:

Senior Republicans said the images of political celebration in Minneapolis while thousands of Americans flee a hurricane could be disastrous. "Senator McCain has always been sensitive to national crisis," said McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds, noting that McCain postponed announcing his presidential candidacy in 2000 because of war in the Balkans. "We are monitoring the situation very closely."
of course, Americans fleeing a disastrous hurricane could take comfort in the fact that McCain was a POW, no?

Quote:

Staging a convention during a major natural disaster would be a public relations challenge for either political party. But GOP officials say the damage could be especially heavy for Republicans, whose reputation was tarred by the Bush administration's bungling of Katrina and its aftermath...

...Some Republicans bemoaned an apparent GOP curse when it comes to summer storms, and noted the contrast between the approach of Gustav and the sunny weather in Denver for the Democrats. "The Republicans can't seem to catch a break when it comes to August and when it comes to the weather," said Karl Rove, a former advisor to the current president, on Fox News Channel yesterday.
get a clue, Karl - it's your rotten karma :W:

Aye, McCain would hate to get caught partying while a hurricane hits..again!

Not only that, but after yesterday, the Rethuglicans need to think up something, ANYTHING, that will give them some attention and make people take them seriously.

I dunno, maybe they can arrange for the ceiling to cave in..

Do you have any idea what the approval rating is for the Democratic controled federal congress? Do you think it is higher than Bush's?

Nope it's less than Bush's.

Try <9% pee pee head.

I am getting real tired of your crap.

Do you wish that the US has the same corporate tax rates as Ireland? Which is by far the highest in the world.

I'm getting the feeling that U are a GOVM'T UNION man who wants all else to pay and pay and pay so gov workers get the BIG pensions and the real workers get nothing

Pray tell, what is Ireland doing so good, that U are so proud to stay there?

Why do U even feel U have the right to post about America when U haven't lived here for many, many years? You know, U do come off as a blowhard.

Have a happy :BSD:

and I suppose I have even less right to have an opinion of the fun and games that is US politics?

Bullshit..

Elsewhere in the world people are very interested in what is going on there
Chatting to a friend in Florida the other day .. I said many of you would be surprised at how much coverage of this US election we are getting here in Australia, he said 'I think most Americans assume everyone in the world is up on everything that happens here.'

So ..again, like people posting a stories and a links ... you better learn to face reality

You don't have to live in the US to realize the hellhole the conservatives of this world would turn this planet into given half a chance...

this is the internet if you hadn't noticed.

Again.. Diego has more than enough right to say who he doesn't want to see running your country.. how many relatives do you think he may have still living there?

Please think before you type.
oh and...

Do try to understand the words.
