Household MP3 Factoid
Saw this in an otherwise unrelated article on c|net. Thought I'd pass it along...
"About 40 percent of U.S. households with Internet access have downloaded and stored music files on their computers, according to Parks Associates data. The average number of files stored per household is much more than 300." That's a lot actually for an average. It's about 30 albums worth of songs when it wasn't that long ago that the average American only had 25 albums in the entire house. It's apparent that the migration from CD to PC is well under way and most importantly, occuring now in regular households. A hundred RIAAs aren't stopping this one. http://news.com.com/2100-1040-957974.html - js. |
In other news, the average number of files per user shared on a P2P network is reported to be 3. No RIAA will be needed to stop THIS movement...
