Was anyone moved by Michael Green's speech?
I was moved by Michael Green's moving condemnation of the stealing and pirating of music through the internet--NOT! His shallow appeal rings so hollow in light of the industry's dubious business practices, which have proliferated since day one. Do they care about artists? As long as the bucks are rolling in. So Michael Green, F*ck you and the artists backs that you and your compatriots rode in on.

...the only thing that moved was my bowels. Then I had to run to the bathroom.

"This illegal file-sharing and ripping of music files is pervasive, out of control and oh so criminal." In reality those 'demo kids' just demonstrated how nicely and effectively the distribution of music can be arranged without any help from the record companies! :f: :afi: A good quote Malk! :tu: - tg ;) |

"Well, we asked three college-age students to spend two days with us and download as many music files as possible from easily accessible Web sites."
Did anyone notice they didn't use a p2p program? What does it matter, the important thing was the 6000. How many of those "nearly 6000 " songs will they be listening to later? In the end it's quantity over quality and that's what the industry likes best of all, isn't it? :ND: Plus I found the speech to be too pseudo-factual rather than present a decent argument. It's stating 'this is what people do', 'this is the problem', with no why's or but's :BS: Kind of emtpy, IMO. Maybe if you saw a guy at a podium (preferably on television, of course) saying it it would have been more persuasive. Gotta have a suit and tie, too. 'Educated' people don't BS, as everyone knows. :J: |
Read JS' post on the Peer to Peer thread "Downloading: What Really Happened..."
