Sierra huh? Geez, I have some card games for the 286 from them, heh heh. By the facemaker are you talking the avatars for game tables? I could use a little info on that, btw. I'm assuming it's just another extra option for yer gaming pleasure.

What is this software? I'm curious.

Metal, it's quite easy for you to make some stuff available to some Napsterites here. I just did it with Photoshop 6 and made it available to some guys here who are downloading it right now. Just use WinRar to turn the software into a bunch of little .rar files and upload them to i-drive or some other similar storage areas, then provide the links so they can go download it ...and when they've finished, they of course just turn the seperate .rar files back into the program.

I'm very glad you asked this question though DAFORC3 because it just caused me to go search on the net to see if I could find out more of what Hoyle Facemaker was, and I inadvertantly discovered a link to a very working ftp site providing the entire CD of the game Unreal ...whoheeeeee! I've been wanting it.

It's the software for playing any number of the games available over at Flipside, which used to be called WON...They are all Hoyle games and if you buy the software you get to play the games on-line with a bunch of added features...The most popular one being the Face-Maker. Which, truth be told, is the only reason why I wanted the software in the first place, lol. :D

I've been playing there since the very first day I got on line, usually Spades, but I also play Hearts and Wordox (a scrabble-ish type of word game)....I've even roped Headbanger into playing with me from time to time. :BL:

If anyone else plays there I am usually under the name Metal Girl (surprise, surprise, lol), Hawg Wylde Honey, Truly Scrumptious or Harley Babyson, look me up!

As for sharing anything I have, I am all for it, although, but for the Hoyle Face-Maker we are speaking of, I have 8 other Barbie interactive games and that's it...Anybody else want that? lol I tried once to get something off of Squid and it was a disaster...I still can't get that file, we are sopposed to set up some time though to pass it through icq one day, I still have hope, lol. Photoshop is something I'd definately LOVE to have!!! You think you could send me the link too?

Pwwweeeeeeaseeeee???? ;)

what am i suposed to do with the .prf rules file and an .ini :con:

no enlightenment here :D

alkizz 18-04-01 04:24 AM

Sorry guys the WON folder came from Hoyle Casino, how it works at flipside.com I have no idea. I did double click the *.prf file and it said something about adding PICS Rules file into the Content Advisor feature of Internet Explorer. I asssume that is what allows it to be used by web based games at flipside?

Other than that I really don't know?

Description:

A description of what Face Maker is, how to get Face Maker and how to use it.

Solution:

Face Maker is a way for players who own Hoyle CDs to create faces for themselves by selecting from a wide range of pre-created art. While all Flipside.com Hoyle players can view the faces created by others, only people who own Hoyle CDs can choose Face Maker faces for their picture. Face Maker faces are stored in the directory C:\PROGRAM FILES\WON\FACEMAKER. The files that contain the individual faces are in this directory and have a .FAC extension. These are small files that are easy to trade with your friends via e-mail.

If you own a Hoyle CD released in fall 1999 or later -- these products have Face Maker clearly labeled on the box -- you can create faces using your CD product, and then choose any of your faces for all to see when playing on the Hoyle Channel.

If you own an older Hoyle CD, you cannot make faces, but you can still use the Face Maker faces provided by Hoyle, or faces given to you by friends who do have Face Maker-capable CDs when playing through Flipside.com.

To create faces; start a single-player game of Hoyle and under the player picture choose Custom. This will launch the Face Maker editor allowing you to customize your player face. When you have finished the face, click the Save button and type a name to identify the file. When you return to the Sign In screen you can cycle through the faces that have been created. Since all the Face Maker capable products share the same files you will have access to these faces both in single player and when playing through Flipside.com.

i dunno.... but it seems like you have to start an off-line single player game off the cd in order to launch the face maker..... the hoyle single player games through flipside do not have player faces to customize.... i wonder if it's even worth the effort.... has anyone actually used it?
