Flaming Lips / Beck
 

They were here in LK on Saturday night and it was a good show. I think the Lips out performed Beck too. The best part was when we got there and found out that our seats were IN THE FRONT ROW AND CENTER OF THE FUCKING STAGE!!!!! according to the seating chart I thoght we would be in the front row of the balcony but when we showed our tix to the usher he pointed us farther up then the next usher said you are in the front. Wow, I have never had seats that good to anything.

Anyway, the Lips reminded me of the spectical of Pink Floyd. On stage they had 4 huge revolving disco balls and the lead singer had a cool smoke machine that he would blow at us. On the sides of the stage were about 50 peeps dressed in fuzzy animal costumes. The music was indeed psycadelic and well done. All the while were 20-30 huge ballons that were bouncing everywhere.
The screen in back had cool visuals as well.

Im not saying I diddn't enjoy Beck, he was great musically but as far as being entertained, the Flaming Lips stold the show.

I'm glad you had a nice time at this gig. :) I must say, I'm not too keen about the new Flaming Lips release "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" as I'm a sucker for their older material...('Transmissions from the Satellite Heart' is my favorite cd by them). Hey, did you happen to take any pictures of this gig? And what was the setlist like?
