laptop buying questions
can anyone tell me about laptop computers? A friend would like to buy one, and is not too picky about new / used, but I don't know much about them. She will use it for surfing, games and just monkeying around to pass time at work.
any tips or suggestions woill be a help. Thanks. :) |
Bronxie, do you still have that laptop for sale?
:BP: I just realized, this belongs in the new swap section! Sorry, please move this thread when you can. :o |

What about a Dell? I hear they are pretty good.

Watch out for Sony laptops. They have extra security measures which can be a pain in the ass. I have stayed clear of laptops as I have never found them to be economical in time on reloads or money on purchase or upgrades.
Plus I never go anywhere.. :BL: Ð :S: |
Dooood!
She's gettin a Dell! Sorry, I forgot what the specs were.:o |
One thing to remember if this will be a gaming machine. Laptops use a compressed version of the 104 keyboard. I have found it necessary to plug in a regular keyboard when playing some games. Also, I recommend getting(if avaliable on Dell's machines) a radeon 7500 mobility with at least 32 MB DDR Vram or better. Otherwise, your graphics will just plain suck!:D
