Cute FTP Help
Lately it seems that when I go to edit/modify or delete files on my website, I can't see them.
In cute FTP you see the directory structure of your HD on the left and you're supposed to see host side (your uploaded files) on the right. I see nothing on the right, I mean they should be there where I had uploaded them before..... so again I will upload my files and I still don't see them on the right. I don't understand, I've been using this since 98 and have never had a problem like this. Could this friggy possible be on my ISP's end of things?? |
Make sure you are viewing the directory you uploaded your files to. Probably the www directory at the host site.

My website is dispersed over 4 directories/folders. root midi graphics christmas I make sure that the files in HD root are in Host root hd midi are in the Host Midi hd graphics are in is host graphics etc... Remember I said I don't see any folders or files on the 'host' side. So I will go to make new directory, and call is graphics, it's won't create tells me that graphics already exists, odd...cause I don't see it, same for the other folders. I'm pretty good in paying attention to detail as far as file structure in getting the directories within the right directories, no problem, (I come from the old DOS days :) I'm baffled, I think I will give the ISP a jingle, they never seem to be of any help, the don't seem to know much, you mention anything in reference to web page design or TTP and they cower with lack of knowledge....... Drives me insane.... Thanks Oscar, will let ya know if it's an ISP thing..... 15 minutes later...... I Cute FTP linked to my site, and voila all was there the way it should be..... Had to be an ISP thing......Surely I'm not losing my mind yet...... then again, they say it's the first to go :o |
