Advice needed - DVD .vob to Divix .avi

I have SmartRipper and RipItAll.

Looking for a good prog to create the Divix .avi from the ripped .vob files.

Having problems with RipItAll - the new version is even more troublesome than an older version I had. The main problem is audio sync with video is lost at .vob boundaries.

The newer version also has the "feature" of changing audio track language! Neat, huh?

I'm going crazy with this one because each attempt requires re-encoding and takes several hours.

Suggestions anyone?

Added with edit: I have version 4.0 of the Divix codec.

I use the flask encoder and the method described on this page
http://www.dvdripguides.com/ I'm still using the older codec but I have not done any encoding for about 3 months so not sure if 4.0 will work? check in the forums there?

I've tried rippacks before and I don't really like them very much because they're harder to customize. I prefer to handle each step manually. I myself use VirtualDub to do the final encoding, and it's definitly worth the time to learn how to use VirtualDub. This site is where I learned how to rip DVD's and it has dozens of tutorials with dozens of different techniques. Basically it will tell you what programs to use at each step, instead of using a rippack to do the steps for you. And there's a download page with more than 100 programs related to ripping DVD's.
