Japan has gone to Iraq with a new armored vehicle called, the "Light Armored Combat Vehicle." The 4.5 ton vehicle has been in development until recently. The vehicle is 13.8 feet long and normally carries four troops. It can mount a 12.7mm machine-gun or an automatic 40mm grenade launcher.

How cool is this,

Marines of 2d Battalion, 6th Marines, fire a Javelin AntiTank Missile at a target near Blair airfield, Iraq, May 2, 2003. The Javelin was first used in combat during the Iraq campaign. The missile system, with it's 14 pound control unit, weighs 49 pounds. The missile has a "fire and forget" fire control system. The operator puts the cross hairs on the target before launch, and the missile homes in on it. The warhead has a infrared (heat imaging) seeker that enables it to hit a moving target at ranges of up to 2,500 meters. Once a target is detected, the missile can be set up to fire in less than 30 seconds (which can seem like a lifetime if the target sees you as well). Reload time is less than 20 seconds, and this consists of removing the empty firing tube of the missile just launched, and affixing a fresh one. The missile has two attack modes (selected by the operator before firing), top attack and direct attack. Top attack has the missile climb and come down on the target so the warhead can penetrate the thinner top armor. Direct attack is used to take out a bunker or building and goes directly for the target. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Mauricio Campino)

Australian OTH Radar system gets funding boost 2/24/2004 4:18:23 AM
The Federal Government plans to spend $62 million upgrading the controversial over-the-horizon-radar system to better detect missiles, distant ships and aircraft.

Defence Minister Robert Hill announced the upgrade of the Jindalee radar in a speech that was gatecrashed by anti-war protesters.

Delegates at the defence congress in Canberra were showered with anti-war leaflets and one protester banged cymbals and marched onto the stage singing the Grand Old Duke of York.

The protester called delegates warmongers.

Senator Hill said Australia was world leader in over-the-horizon radar technology and US officials specifically mentioned their interest in the Jindalee operational radar network, known as JORN, during recent talks on missile defence .

Better run along, change your sign, grab your mask and go out to the streets to light some fires, smash windows, throw rocks at cops.....Spread Your Peace to the People!!!!!!!!!!

If the mods were doing their job, they should be deleting the BS post by you and RAS..not this thread..this is a forum for topics about war is it not?
