New Development In P2P

there's a new p2p making the rounds (what is it anyway, #307?). this one's different, perhaps even dangerous to the community and that's why i bring it to your attention.

it is not, imo, a positive development in the art and should be allowed to quietly wither on the net until dead.

I'm with all y'all:eke: When you start combining these multi -protocol\muti-network P2P Aps with the rumours of the RIAA plans to flood us with bogus files or viruses it really starts to scare me as much as big spiders do...:att:

Here's what I do with Big Spiders :die:

Current Version is v0.100b
Released on 3/30/2001.

I don't think it is new! It looks dead already
:b:

Also the documentation on this client is lacking everything.

Programs like this are just a bad idea. Basically, it means that we are throwing all of our eggs into one basket. This just makes it easier for the RIAA to do something about the peer to peer programs. One effective strike can take out a lot of us since we would be all connected, but let's hope that doesn't happen.

I guess you can say in theory it would be nice to connect to every network so that the amount of available files would be huge, but in practicality it just makes things easier for the RIAA. So far peer to peer programs thrive because there are so many different programs, but if they start to connect too much then so goes our advantage.

Anyhow, that's just my thoughts on the subject. Feel free to comment.
