... have a look at the spectra ...
when i look at the spectra of my favorite songs, i find mountains of joy and valleys to dream and places of total silence for my desires.
some of the new music fills every little corner with something, making it simply sound loud and noisy - at least to me indy |
yes, i look at the spectra and wander out into those places, only i know.
which "new" music do u refer to? and which, on your spectra, shows the most pleasing to you? |
with new, i refer to music, where all technical and electronical aids were used to make the spectra look equally flat in frequency domain and in time domain. thus forming a 3 minute block of noise.
i even don't want to point at special artists - it's more this technique. i prefer the spectra, where i can see harmonics of individuals and instruments talking to each other. watched in time, they're forming a chain of communicating waves, like the surface of an ocean - and not a lengthy block of raw hammering air pressure. shows the most pleasing to me :) indy |

Monster Magnet, Ministry, and Motorhead... and none of them have the "push the faders up" look of the Spears song. Creepy. |

[b] Interesting - I started watching the songs I have since seeing this post... grabbed a few of my heavier tunes just to see what it looked like. Now that looks like a continuous barrage of noise, no dynamics at all... That looks better, but for Real dynamics, look at some 50's Jazz High Peaks in the treble, deep bass, and little compression, its the compression that ruins the dynamics of todays music.. Snark. :RE: |

Monster Magnet isn't a smooth jazz group. Heavy bass, heavy drums, fast hard guitar. The point was what's Ms. Spear's excuse for having that same range/level in her music? Quote:
