this whole bizarre episode just brings home the sorry fact how out of touch the labels are with the markets they at one time created and controlled. to have a major release climb to #2 on the pc-cd charts - before its' commercial release - and outside the control of the company that created it, would have been difficult to believe just a few short months ago and totally inconceivable a few years ago. while the riaa whines to congress, the businesses they built up over the last century burn seemingly unattended to the ground. hillary rosen may be feted in the halls of hollywood and washington with comparisons to other heroes like patton, but history will write her epitaph with a nero.
