Not eDonkey-style per se, nothing does that kind of partial file sharing. WinMX always downloads the file from the beginning, unlike eDonkey which grabs random blocks and so spreads the file around really fast. Partially downloaded (and download in progress) file sharing is supported in WinMX and works very well, as many users can attest to.

Those percentages have to with with multi-source downloads eg. You're downloading 50% from User4, because he has the fastest & most reliable connection. The other users provide the other bits, but of course it doesn't matter from which user you download which part.
The percentage means exactly what one might think it means. It's how much of the file the user has. Even if all downloads have stopped and a partial file is sitting around, a percentage will still be shown. What sense would it make to put a percentage likle you describe? The value is usually not up-to-date, but gives a pretty accurate view of how much of the file a user has.

Overall WPNP users/files are not available, even FrontCode claims not to have them. The best they can do is estimate # of users based on their peer cache stats.

Thanks for explaining that pod! I think the last version I used (at least for actually downloading lol) was 2.1 so I was just guessing anyway. :D
